Don't Be Indecisive

The battle of Antietam was one of the bloodiest battles to take place of American History with about 23,000 casualties in one day. Many Historians believe that North could have had a decisive victory if McClellan had used all of his troops. Even though the North could’ve have delivered a lethal blow to the Confederate but didn’t. Over a third of McClellan’s Forces never entered the battle. In addition, McClellan did not coordinate very well either, he gave battle plans individually to each commander, but none of the commanders had any idea what the other ones were doing.

Even before that a couple Union Soldiers stumbled across a copy Lee’s battle plans which described how he divided his army into three to go to three different areas. McClellan could have used this to pick apart Lee’s forces, but he took no action for almost a day causing him to lose a golden opportunity to cripple the Confederate forces. McClellan’s indecisiveness lengthened the war and cost him his job.

Summer is almost over, don’t be indecisive and wait till ends. Get outside and do something now, kayaking, canoeing, running, or whatever. Seize the summer and do something with it before it’s over.
